G RAMIRO Z

Ramiro Z had an incredibly successful life.

He began his professional career by becoming one of the first Holstein stallions to actually compete. He won various international jumping competitions under Fritz Ligges, including Puissance, Nations Cups and Grand Prix.

Breeding-wise, he has been popular for his rideability, movement and jumping talents that he passes on. He has several successful offspring, in both dressage and jumping. His most well known daughter, Ratina Z, won gold medals at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 and 1996, followed by first place the 1993 World Cup.

Due to his sporting success, as well as for breeding, Ramiro was awarded the ‘Horse of the Year’ title in Amsterdam in 1992, and is still known as the “King of Sires”. He is still at the top of various jumping and dressage indexes.
